The 6" Constellation compass has been manufactured since 1947. It has been made under the Kelvin White,Wilfrid O. White, Danforth-White and Danforth brand names. The clear dome on the 6" Constellation measures 6-5/16" in diameter at the base of the dome. It was available in at least 4-5 different models, flush mount, binnacle mount (with or without a sliding door hood), binnacle mount with a skylight head, and a double mounting yacht bracket (pictured).

In January 2010 Viking Instruments purchased the entire inventory of Constellation parts as well as the tooling necessary to continue manufacturing replacement compass parts. Viking Instruments, Inc is now the exclusive manufacturer and distributer of Danforth parts and service.

The standard overhaul on the 6" Constellation is $425.00, which includes complete disassembly, cleaning, repainting of the bowl and powder coating the top ring, replacement clear dome, gaskets, diaphram, oil and a two year warranty. Replacement parts to the gimbals, lighting and return shipping are extra. Turn around time is typically two weeks from the time that we receive your approval to proceed. Be sure to include a daytime telephone number in the box with the compass so we can contact you as soon as your compass arrives.
