This compass was originally designed for the US Army in 1968 however because of the high cost of materials it never made it into the commercial line. It is the largest spherical type compass made by E.S. Ritchie. This compass and binnacle has never been sold and was recently rebuilt to like new condition at the factory and will be fully warranted by the factory. Its unique features include a highly polished glass dome. The compass is 11" high, The binnacle base is 11" wide, the overall width with the sphere arms is 23".
